Calling our new Rector

It was announced Sunday, May 20th, we have called a new Rector:

The Reverend J.D. McQueen II

Fr. J.D. McQueen II comes to us from Grace Church in Sheboygan, WI, where he has served since his graduation from Nashotah House in 2008. Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, Fr. McQueen did his undergraduate studies at nearby Eureka College, where he studied Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Music. After graduating, he was sent to seminary by The Cathedral Church of St. Paul, his home parish and the site of his first sermon (as a member of the high school youth group) and his first Mass. Since his ordination, Fr. McQueen has filled many roles at Grace Church, serving as the parish’s primary teacher, its spiritual leader in transition, and most recently as the pastoral associate. He has been active in the community of Sheboygan as well, singing in the Lakeshore Chorale, working with the nonprofit initiative Great Marriages for Sheboygan County, and serving on school district’s Human Growth and Development advisory board, among other things. Fr. McQueen also serves in the Alumni Association at Nashotah House and is a Priest Associate of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, whose proto-shrine in North America resides at Grace Church in Sheboygan. Fr. McQueen brings with him his wife, Sarah, and their Great Dane, Wrigley.

Calling Committee Update to the parish: March 2012

Our profile officially closed for receiving names on March 15, 2012. If needed, we can reopen our profile at any time but the committee does not feel it is necessary to keep the profile open due to the number of excellent candidates we are currently reviewing.
The Diocese prior to our review as a committee has vetted each applicant, however the call committee still has much work to do in determining who among the applicants best fits the tradition of All Saints'.
After a series of emailed questions and fact gathering, those applicants who best fit are being interviewed via phone, Skype and finally in person. While the process may be lengthy, it gives us the information necessary to determine who goes to the next round of interviewing.
It has continued to be an interesting and exciting job to discern what each applicant could bring to All Saints as well as learn about the many talents of our applicants.

Thank you for your support and please keep the Call Committee in your prayers!

Calling Committee Update to the parish: February 2012

Applicants continue to come in from across the country and our profile remains open for receiving names. The Diocese prior to our review as a committee vets each applicant, which has proven to be a very efficient method. While not all applicants are the right fit, we have begun the next phase of interviewing with those we feel warrant a closer look. It continues to be an interesting and exciting job to discern what each applicant could bring to All Saints as well as learn about the many talents of our applicants.

Currently we are still in the accepting names part of the process so, if you are aware of a clergy member who may be interested in becoming the next rector of All Saints, please forward the contact information to the Call Committee Chair, Adriane Leader, through the parish office. Any interested clergy will be contacted and referred to the diocese to officially submit an application.
Thank you for your support and please keep the Call Committee in your prayers!

Calling Committee Update to the parish: January 2012

Since our church profile became active December 1st, meaning that interested clergy began applying to become our new rector, the call committee has begun to receive names. We are happy to report that we have had names come in from a variety of sources, including the Diocese of San Diego and the Society of the Holy Cross. As a committee we are excited to learn about each applicant and what each applicant could bring to All Saints.

Currently we are still in the accepting names part of the process so, if you are aware of a clergy member who may be interested in becoming the next rector of All Saints, please forward the contact information to the Call Committee Chair, Adriane Leader, through the parish office.
