GOLD PHONE
An American decided to write a book about famous churches of the world. So he purchased a plane ticket and took a trip to Orlando. On the first day he was inside a church and while taking photos he spied a gold phone mounted on the wall. Under the phone was a sign '$10,000.00 per call'. Being intrigued he stopped a priest as he passed through the church. 'Father', the American said, 'I noticed a gold phone on the wall of the church. What is it used for?' The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and for $10,000.00 you could talk to God. The American thanked the priest and went on his way. The next stop was in Atlanta. There, at a large Cathedral, the American saw the same gold phone, with the same sign '$10,000.00 per call'. Curious he asked a passing nun. The nun gave the same explanation as the priest in Orlando. 'Thank you', the American said and went on his way. The American then traveled to Indianapolis, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and New York. In every city in the famous churches he visited he saw the same gold phone and the same sign under the phone. The American on leaving New York decided to travel to Australia. He arrived and yes, in the first cathedral he entered he encountered the same gold phone, however this time the sign stated '40 Cents per call'. The American was so surprised he looked all over the cathedral to find a priest. Eventually he found a priest and asked, 'Father, I have traveled all over America and I've seen this same gold phone in many churches. I'm told this
