FATHER TONY WRITES

My dear friends,

What a wonderful Holy Week and Easter we have just had. As I write this my mind and my heart are still on "cloud 9." Holy Week and the Easter Triduum are, of course, at the heart of our religion, and their celebration is the paramount celebration of any church. We expect it to be an inspiring week which renews our faith. This year the music was superb, and I do congratulate Mr Robert MacLeod and the choir. The flowers also were spectacular, as always, from Palm Sunday right through to Easter day.

Many who have joined our congregation in the last 12 months experienced a real  Holy Week for the first time, and I received much praise. It would not be too extreme to say that this year's was our "best ever." I do hesitate to say that because there are many parishes who boast of the beauty of their Holy Week Services. In fact I was quite bemused in March to read 4 parish magazines in which the Rector claimed that at his church you find the best Holy Week worship anywhere! I don't need to tell you that about All Saints' because you don't need convincing!
