important Walsingham is to me. Our Lady of Walsingham is an important part of Anglocatholic tradition and devotion, and most Anglocatholic parishes have a Walsingham shrine. Now All Saints' does, too!
The day before the blessing of the new shrine I received an e-mail from Bishop Keith Ackerman, congratulating us on the new shrine. Bishop Ackerman is an honorary American Guardian of the shrine in Walsingham. Our shrine has also been registered with the shrine there. This means our parish will be prayed for regularly at Walsingham.
Later in May I went on my annual pilgrimage to Walsingham. Whilst there I offered prayers and Mass for our parish and its people, giving thanks for our growth in faith, devotion and mission. It is my hope that our new shrine will be a focus of prayer - perhaps even becoming a place for healing prayer, as Walsingham is? It will certainly become a place where all the intercessions we receive at All Saints' are offered, assisted by the prayers of Mary. I hope that parishioners will also feel free to light votive lights at the shrine - another great Anglocatholic tradition.
CONTACTING THE RECTOR Parishioners are not always sure how to contact me. I try to be at the office each morning, except Mondays (which is my day off). After lunch I could be anywhere! Please do use my CELL PHONE. It is always with me, and at home it is the best way to contact me. And please do not hesitate to call me. I am an old-fashioned priest who likes hearing from his people. You know that I also like visiting my people at home. This is not as easy as I would hope,
