REFLECTION & VISION
Since my operation I have done some good reading and reflection. I had time to think about my spiritual life and our parish life. Much of this reflection was expressed in what I said at the Parish Dinner on November 18th. Those who did not attend missed a significant event in the life of our parish. 100 parishioners enjoyed a wonderful Caribbean supper. Whilst we ate, John Gray provided a marvelous power-point display of events in the parish over the last few years. Kay Phillips spoke about the joy we feel in our parish. There was an atmosphere of good fellowship and excitement. I spoke about our past, where we are now and, most importantly, where we are going. We are a dynamic and growing parish! I finished by offering 3 special projects to engage us over the next few years. A copy of my talk is printed on pages 13-18.

I began by talking about our Anglocatholic tradition. This is the one thing that makes us different to many other churches. At the heart of this tradition is the Mass. When I was a teenager it was my first experience of an Anglocatholic Mass that inspired me and won me. Yet many who attend our church are ignorant of the various ceremonies and their meaning. So during my convalescence I worked on a book which will explain all those things and what they mean. It is being typed by Kathryn Dreyer, who prepares this magazine. When it is finished every parishioner will be sent a copy.

STEWARDSHIP
The Parish Dinner was a new approach to our annual stewardship appeal. This year we decided that instead of having parishioners speak at Mass about our parish and its budget, we would have a dinner at which I would out
