PARISH MISSION
from the Senior Warden, Rick Ochocki

Following the closing of the Parish Day School, the All Saints' Vestry met in consultation at Christ the King Church in Alpine to explore new mission possibilities for the Church in the local community.  From this discussion, two new projects emerged.

First, on Thanksgiving Day, the Parish Hall will be opened after the Mass to host a lunch for the needy in the community.  This will also provide a place to celebrate the Holiday for those who may not have another place to go.  Rick Ochocki is organizing this project, which will rely on donated food, and volunteers from the Church and Hillcrest communities.  Further information will be forthcoming regarding volunteer opportunities, the meal, and getting word of this event out into the neighborhood.

In addition, the Vestry is looking into the possibility of hosting a mobile medical and legal resources clinic at the Church.  In order to better understand the available outreach options, Dr. Michelle Banta, MD, has joined the Diocese of San Diego Health and Wellness Advisory Committee.  This committee is working to promote a cooperative program based in local Episcopal churches, along with other denominations and organizations.  A key component of this effort is to utilize existing best practices while avoiding competition with other social service outreach programs or duplication of efforts.
