RECTOR’S NEWS – APRIL 2008

Dear friends,

We have just had a wonderful Holy Week & Easter at All Saints’. You can see photographs from the main Services on this website. It is marvelous to see the crucifix above the high altar change from purple veil on Palm Sunday, to white on Maundy Thursday, to black on Good Friday, to unveiled surrounded by flowers at Easter. All the liturgies were beautiful, and the music excellent. Attendances were up at every Service and were a record for the Easter Triduum. Easter day saw over 100 at the Low Mass & a packed church for the High Mass. The attendance was more than at Christmas! It was a wonderful weekend.

The following Sunday our Bishop was with us, and he confirmed 3 young women. It was a happy celebration. That afternoon our acolytes enjoyed a social gathering at the home of George & Kathryn Dreyer. So parish life continues with joy. At the end of April I shall be visiting Australia for 2 weeks. On Sunday April 27th I will be celebrating Mass & preaching at St Paul’s, Port Adelaide. This is the parish where I was an altar server in my youth. I am looking forward very much to returning and catching up with old friends.

Yours in the Risen Christ,
